A Warrior Takes Hold of his Power

We are called to prove our perseverance on occasion. These are the times between manifestations when discouragement can look to get a foothold in your emotions. This is when we start to "feel like it will never change..." or something to that effect. Know that these are the times when you have the awesome opportunity to show your Father how far you have come. Your chance to take the test and graduate to the next level of His Grace and the unfolding of His Plan for you!

Genesis 32:23-29

²³ And he took them and sent them across the brook; also he sent over all that he had.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone, and a Man wrestled with him until daybreak.

²⁵ And when [the Man] saw that He did not prevail against [Jacob], He touched the hollow of his thigh; and Jacob’s thigh was put out of joint as he wrestled with Him.

²⁶ Then He said, Let Me go, for day is breaking. But [Jacob] said, I will not let You go unless You declare a blessing upon me.

²⁷ [The Man] asked him, What is your name? And [in shock of realization, whispering] he said, Jacob [supplanter, schemer, trickster, swindler]!

²⁸ And He said, Your name shall be called no more Jacob [supplanter], but Israel [contender with God]; for you have contended and have power with God and with men and have prevailed.

²⁹ Then Jacob asked Him, Tell me, I pray You, what [in contrast] is Your name? But He said, Why is it that you ask My name? And [the Angel of God declared] a blessing on [Jacob] there.

See that this may come with a price to be paid on some occasions. See that the results of your determination (v24-26) will cause the Angel to respond to you according to God's Plan and you will be transformed by the might of your Faith (determination - v25) and the Power of God (transformation - v28) to completely change you in an instant.

In the quiet times, when the doubt is screaming to you in the silence, it is your turn to be Jacob! It is your turn to make it plain and clear to the doubt that you are too busy keeping a hammerlock on your Blessing to be bothered with the pity party that the doubt is trying to invite you to join! 

See also that Jacob went into the match alone from the earthly perspective (v23-24), but his Faith was Always there with him. Without Faith, Jacob cannot hold on, especially after being hurt by the Angel - Show Your Faith and Receive Your Transforming Blessing (v28-29). Look at the last half of verse 28 - the transformed you has "contended with God, and have POWER with God and Men"!!
